A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Dr. Yan Sun
Curiosity and care, across science, writing and art.
I’m Yan Sun, a researcher at Maastricht University working on cancer cachexia, body composition and medical imaging. Research has taught me to value evidence, and to remember that behind the data are people and the lives they lead.
On Zhihu and Weibo, I write as “盐小姐不吃盐”, sharing reflections on medicine, research and everyday life. I hope to make complex questions clearer, bring the people and stories behind medicine into view, and give due thought to questions without easy answers.
Beyond research, I enjoy painting and calligraphy, and taking the time to make a meal with care. From colour on canvas and ink on paper to the subtle flavours of everyday life, I value both rigour and sensitivity. This gallery brings together years of creative work, along with the thoughts and inspiration behind it.
